Rev. Daikan Nonin Chowaney was abbot of Nebraska Zen Center for 25 years. He learned the art of calligraphy while training in Japan, and continued honing his distinctive style for the rest of his life. For many years, Nonin offered his calligraphy online for the benefit of Nebraska Zen Center. He also donated pieces to other Zen centers across the United States.
Nonin died in 2023, and he left his collection of calligraphy to Nebraska Zen Center. We are now offering prints of Nonin’s work for sale through an arrangement with Fine Art America. You can see the collection here, and acquire the print of your choice. We will be adding more images to this collection as time goes by.
