NZC’s Weekly Schedule

Sunday:

10–11:30 am: Open Zen or Just Sitting (last Sunday of the month)

In person or via Zoom. Learn more.


Monday: 

5:30–5:55 am: Early morning zazen with Daishin

Get an early start on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays by sitting half an hour of zazen with Daishin via Zoom. Join from home or from the NZC zendo with Taizan.

6 am–7:30: Daily morning zazen at NZC

6–7:30 pm: Zazen and discussion via Zoom with Zen Fields:

  • 6 pm: Zazen
  • 6:25 pm: Walking meditation
  • 6:35 pm: Zazen
  • 7 pm:  Shared reading and discussion
  • 7:30 pm: Closing

Tuesday: 

6–7:30 am: Daily morning zazen at NZC

4–5 pm: Yoga with sutra study

We’ll be studying the Yoga Sutras, the meditation manual for yogis, as well as working with the physical body. Daishin has designed these sessions especially for those who would like to learn how to sit comfortably on the floor or to move toward sitting in a half-lotus posture.


Wednesday: 

5:30–5:55 am: Early morning zazen with Daishin

6:00–7:30 am:  Daily morning zazen at NZC


Thursday: 

6–7:30 am: Daily morning zazen at NZC

6–7:30 pm: Just Sitting (coming Thursdays in May)

End your day with zazen. Join Taizan, NZC’s resident priest-in-training, on Thursday evenings for two 30-minute periods of zazen with kinhin, or walking meditation, in between. After zazen, we will recite the Fukanzazengi and share thoughts and questions about our practice. Please join us!
