Introduction to Mindfulness and Self-Compassion Workshop

An adventure into the uncharted territories of self-discovery and self-transformation

What is Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC)?

Most of us feel compassion when someone we are close to is struggling. What would it be like to receive the same caring attention from yourself when you need it the most? Yet, in a world of immense pressure
and many obligations making demands on our time and attention combined with our potentially false beliefs about taking care of ourselves, we generally end up putting ourselves at the bottom of our to-do list. The truth is we can’t afford to be without compassionate self-care. Research has shown that self-compassion leads to healthy habits, lowers anxiety and depression, and supports more satisfying relationships.

Who Should Attend?

This introductory workshop is relevant for anyone with the desire to learn the basic skills of mindfulness, simple meditation, and informal practices to cultivate the capacity to respond to yourself in a kind, compassionate way whenever you are experiencing difficulties in your life. The goal in this introductory workshop is for participants to directly experience mindfulness and self-compassion and learn practices that evoke self-compassion in daily life. Self-compassion is a transformative fundamental quality of our human experience. The workshop is based on the Mindful Self-Compassion program developed by Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer. No previous experience with mindfulness or meditation is required to attend the workshop.

After Participating in this Workshop, You’ll be Able to:

  • Understand the basics of mindfulness, meditation, and self-compassion and the relationship between these concepts
  • Understand the basic neuroscience and physiology behind mindfulness and self-compassion
  • Learn the basics of practicing mindfulness and self-compassion in daily life
