Rev. Kyoki Einin Roberts, dharma heir of Rev. Nonin Chowaney, NZC’s resident abbot for 25 years, passed away the morning of December 19, 2023. Nebraska Zen Center mourns her loss, but we also celebrate her life. On Saturday, February 10, we will have a memorial ceremony for her. We hope you will join us.
Rev. Daishn McCabe will lead a memorial ceremony that will include reflections on Kyoki’s life and the impact she had on people around her, as well as an opportunity for attendees to share their own memories.
We invite you to stay after the service for a potluck. The NZC sangha will share a meal and memories of Kyoki. We invite you to bring a dish if you are able.

Parking: The Zen Center has two driveways and plenty of street parking in front. To access our main entrance, walk up the west driveway and go around the back, or south, side of the garage. Walk up the steps to the deck and you’ll see the door to the entryway. Entering the Zen Center: Please remove your outdoor shoes when entering the building. You’ll find trays or shelves to place them on in the entryway, as well as wall hooks for jackets and coats.
